About Us
Located in Somerset, NJ, Al Toque Peruvian Restaurant has aimed to share the unique and diverse flavors of Peruvian cuisine, in a comfortable atmosphere, with quick and great service, to make you feel right at home!
Our Story
Al Toque Peruvian first opened its doors in 2015, founded by Doris Margarita, with the help of her daughter and co-owner Rossie La Torre Torres, following the successful opening of Wakatay on December 31, 2014. At the time, Peruvian restaurants in the area were few, and Doris saw an opportunity to introduce our culture and highlight the globally renowned Peruvian cuisine.
Women owned and managed, Al Toque is more than just a family business—it’s a community-centered endeavor. Over the past eight years, we’ve brought our food into countless homes, becoming a part of family dinners and supporting our local community and fellow Peruvians in need. We’ve donated to schools, police departments, local organizations, and hosted events like our renowned polladas, raising funds for those in need, including our manager Kelly Torres, who overcame cancer in 2019 and remains essential to Al Toque’s success.
In March 2017, we raised funds for Peruvians affected by floods. In 2018, we celebrated Peru’s qualification for the World Cup, creating a space for the community to gather and cheer together. In 2020, despite the challenges of the pandemic, we continued serving the community, thanks to the unwavering support of our customers.
Through the years, Al Toque has evolved with a commitment to improving our service and flavors. With your continued support, we look forward to serving you for many more years to come.
